This special program is designed to give young people a greater sense of their place in time through the exploration of the last century as it unfolded in the world of folk music. Each decade of the twentieth century is remembered for particular events and through significant changes in our culture, and many of these characteristics are reflected in the music of the time.

     Timmy's program draws from America's varied folk traditions - presenting songs, poetry, stories and music which, taken together, capture the essence of some of the most memorable events and qualities of life in our nation over the last ten decades.

     Timmy's program will continue to include his collection of musical instruments and will maintain a focus on student participation. A selected repertoire reflecting each decade will vary for different age groups, grades 4 - 12.
