K - 2: this is a time for kids to play mostly, and learn in the process - and that is the way Timmy's concerts are designed for the younger set. So much research is showing the positive influence of music on children's brain development and learning ability, and almost every aspect of this program is engaging and participatory with that fact in mind.
From the very first song, children (and teachers) will be using their arms for hand motions, their bodies for rhythms, and their voices for singing. This program is fun! Children learn about the banjo, listen to the hammered dulcimer, laugh with the dancing man, dance sitting down, drift with their eyes closed to the penny whistle, and sing from their hearts.
